About
You may have heard of a puzzle known as the Towers of Hanoi. This version
is (obviously) on the computer and includes nice pretty coloured blocks.
How sweet! :-)
Playing the Game
Load up the game and click 'Begin a new Game!'. Depending on how many
Disks you have selected, depends upon how many you will see arranged on
the middle post. The more disks you have, the harder the game is.
To play, you must move the entire pile of disks
from one post to another, one by one, and never having a larger disk above
a smaller one, like this:
You may, however, use both posts to 'store'
the slabs as you move others about.
Clicking on a slab will depress it, showing that it is selected.
During the game, the help box will give you
information about what you are doing. The texts are mostly self explanatory,
but I will explain them in detail here, just to make this guide seem longer.
Go!
Click on the purple slab to start... - Displayed at
the start of the game, it tells you which coloured piece to click on to
begin.
Click on a post to put the
disk there - You have selected a piece. Well done! Now
select a post wher the piece will be able to go.
Click on another piece
to move it - You have moved at least one piece! Congratulations!
Whoops! Try that piece somewhere else! - You are
trying to put a larger piece on top of a smaller one. Select a different
post for the piece.
You can't put a piece on the
post it's already on! - I can't even be bothered to write anything
for this one!
Cheats and Tips
Just to help you to work out the pattern, I will show you how to do
it, step by step, for 3 disks.
Information
You must have your computer to be Javascript enabled, and it must
